Step 3: Go to the Paths option and press and hold (Ctrl) on the keyboard and click on the Work Path thumbnail to make a selection from the path or for a shortcut we can press (Ctrl + Enter) on the keyboard to get the selection from the path.

Step 4: Click on the Add Layer Mask icon to make a layer mask and remove the background. Layer mask hides the area that is not selected and shows what is selected without deleting anything permanently.

Step 5: Open up the backside of the T-Shirt in photoshop and make a selection of the neck area by using the pen tool as precisely as possible. And select the Path by pressing and holding (Ctrl) on the keyboard and clicking on the Work Path thumbnail to make a selection from the path or for a shortcut we can press (Ctrl + Enter) on the keyboard to get the selection from the path.

Step 6: Press (Ctrl+J) on the keyboard to make the selection copy into the new layer. Only the selected area will be copied into a new layer. And name the layer T-SHIRT BACKSIDE.

Step 7: Move the selection to the original image or front T-Shirt image. And drag the T-SHIRT BACKSIDE layer below the mask layer to let only the neck area visible.

Then adjust the size by pressing (Ctrl+T) on the keyboard and use the warp tool to adjust the corners of the T-shirt to make them look real and more natural.

Step 8: Now apply layer style or inner shadow by double-clicking on the T-SHIRT BACKSIDE layer. Make sure the Inner shadow is checked on and play with Blend Mode, Opacity, Angle, Distance, Choke, Size and noise which suits your model best then press OK.

Step 9: Apply a background colour by clicking on the layer adjustment icon and choose Solid colour and choose a bright colour. And then we will have our final results of the neck joint in photoshop.

There is another way of doing this Neck joint in photoshop only if the T-shirt is completely plain and the same colour.

We can use the pen tool and simply make a path all around half of the T-Shirt. Go to the Path option, hold down the (Ctrl) on the keyboard and click the Work Path thumbnail to make a selection of the path.

Press (Ctrl+J) on the keyboard to make the selection copy into the new layer. Only the selected area will be copied into a new layer and then copy the same layer and flip that layer to make another half of the T-Shirt.

Now place the T-SHIRT BACKSIDE layer at the back of the T-Shirt and fit everything perfectly. And then we will have our complete Neck Joint in Photoshop.
